The Nesher plant was founded near Haifa in 1922, in a location that would later develop into the city of Nesher. In the 1950s, another factory was established in the city of Ramla, in order to supply the growing cement consumption for the construction of the young Israeli state.
Since then, the Nesher plant has become a leading force in the Israeli industry, and the story of its development is intertwined with the history of the Israeli State and its establishment.
At Nesher, many resources are invested every year in significantly improving the plant's production infrastructure, aiming to improve and strengthen the production process and make it more efficient, both energetically and environmentally.
The plant operates in compliance with strict international standards and according to all permits and regulatory requirements. Nesher is also a national leader in the use of alternative raw materials and alternative fuels and is an anchor for the implementation of a circular economy in Israel. Nesher Ramla is the only plant in Israel for the production of cement, which is the raw material in the production of concrete for construction and infrastructure. The plant in Ramla was established in the 1950s following the surge of immigration to the State of Israel. Upon its establishment, the aim was to provide the cement required for the development of the young, rapidly developing country. The plant is considered one of the most advanced cement plants in the world in terms of the use of advanced production technologies, both in its products and in terms of sustainability and ecology.
