Reinforced concrete

How do we produce cement?

First, we quarry the raw materials (limestone and clay). After some processing and chemical tests, the raw materials are transferred to a furnace where the temperature reaches about 1,600 degrees Celsius.

Inside the furnace, the natural raw materials are transformed into a new mineral called clinker. The clinker is ground into a fine gray powder, and mixed with gypsum and minerals to create cement.

Cement is the main raw material in concrete production, and it is the material that gives concrete its strength. The cement is kept in bulk storage tanks (silos) or in bags.

Some facts about our cement

Did you Know?

The cement manufacturing process consists of quarrying the raw materials limestone and clay. After processing and chemical tests, the raw materials are put into the furnace where, at a temperature of approximately 1,600 degrees, the clinker production process takes place. The clinker is ground into a fine powder, and cement is formed by mixing other materials into it.

Did you Know?

The cement industry requires a long-term vision and the establishment of cement plants, and the operation of these requires unique infrastructures both in terms of the construction methods and the significant costs required to build the production plants and from an operational point of view, which requires access to natural raw materials and energy.

Did you Know?

Concrete is the most consumed material in the world after water. It is the main component in the establishment and production of construction infrastructure and in the development of residences and public buildings as well as water and wastewater systems.
